Meet the people that makes the magic happen
As well as the Ballers our Club could not operate without the time and dedication of our Committee Members.
Having grown up watching Michael Jordan it is easy to understand why I fell in love with Basketball at the age of 15.
Now "only a few years older" I'm actively involved with coaching the next generation of ballers. I have been heavily involved with U14/U16 basketball over the past few years, as a qualified Level 2 Coach and I continue to help out when not running sessions with the Derby Ballers.
A proud dad of two; both boys play National League Basketball; for their respective age groups, with Ilkeston Outlaws.
My adventure with Basketball began in Poland in the 90s. I come from the streetball movement when Basketball was an escape from the grey reality during the economic and political changes of the 90s. Streetball is about people, music and most importantly, a way of life that influenced me entirely.
I also coached and managed a team in the West Midlands Amateur League based on the experience I gained from playing at university and participating in amateur leagues in the UK.
My biggest motivators are my lifelong admiration for the game, culture and community. I am supported by my wife and proud father of two daughters, who also enjoy playing Basketball. When not on the court I am a big NBA 2K enthusiast and relaxing with our dog “Kobe”.
My adventure with Basketball began at the age of 8, when I joined the city club MKS Start Lublin. I played in the Shooting Guard (SG) and Shooting Forward (SF) positions.
Unfortunately, I never joined the senior team and did not switch to professional basketball, but I joined an amateur basketball league and there I continued my adventure with my beloved sport.
In 2023, I joined Derby Ballers, where I can continue to enjoy playing basketball.
Having a true love for Basketball, it makes me very proud to support my son as he endeavours to pursue his talents through the British Aspire Programme.
I've played for many years now and really appreciate what Derby Ballers is doing for the community, bringing true diversity to club sport.
I started playing basketball in High School; my inspiration, like many was Kobe Bryant.
My favourite team is the Denver Nuggets, so I spent a lot of time during the 2022/23 playoffs up until 6am watching them win their first championship.
Since moving to Derby, I decided to get involved in a club and joined Derby Ballers. I was really excited to be a part of our successful inaugural season, and I'm looking forward to helping the club grow in Year 2 and beyond.
Our family has a great love for Basketball and I enjoy watching our boys play both in the local park as well as in league games at Wildcats Arena.
The club boasts a great range of diversity in age, culture and nationality which I am proud to be a part of.
